The Portsmouth Naval Gliding Centre (PNGC) operates at Middle Wallop Airfield. PNGC provides RN/RM personnel the opportunity to experience gliding as an approved RN Adventurous Training activity.
Courses are run on Saturdays and/or Sundays.
Booking.
Click on the booking menu below and select the date(s) you wish to attend the Adventurous Training activity.
After booking you are committed to that activity for the day(s).
Cancellation.
If PNGC has to cancel the course for operational reasons, students will be notified.
Once you have booked, you are committed to attend the course for the full day(s) you have booked.
If you needing to cancel your allocation due to operational reasons you have to advise PNGC via email flightbookings@pngc.co.uk that you cannot attend this course.
Failure to inform PNGC of expected or planned non-attendance will result in a formal correspondence being sent to your head of establishment and chain of command reporting your absence from place of duty.
Illness or injury. You are to ensure you are fit to attend the course, as the demands of the training programme require both physical and mental robustness. Do not attend the course if:
You are injured or have recently suffered an illness that will inhibit or restrict your full participation in the training programme.
If you are unwell with an infectious disease.
Physical Size. To safely wear a parachute and fly in a PNGC glider the following apply:
Minimum height (in shoes): 146 cm (4ft 9½ in), Max height 190 cm (6ft 4in).
Minimum weight: 38 kg (7st) Max weight 110Kg (17 st 5lbs) inc parachute.
REPORTING
Arrival time. All students are to report to Middle Wallop Airfield Crash Gate no.2 no later than 0900 on the first day of the course.
On arrival you will need to telephone 07921 894885 and await a club member, to be escorted within the airfield.
The course will start at 0915 and finish no earlier than 1700 daily.
