GLIDING FOUNDATION COURSES (AT) tbc

  Portsmouth Naval GC are now based at Middle Wallop. The course is Sat-Sun and is aimed at those new to gliding and beginners. The intension is to run one course per month. There is a small personal contribution required. In addition a 1 week Foundation course is proposed. For dates and more details contact WO Jamie STEEL at jamie.steel538@mod.gov.uk

RNGSA SPRING DEVELOPMENT WEEK (AT)

10-14 May – A Motor Glider expedition for 12 glider pilots to try gliding for the first time or develop their skills will be held by Portsmouth Naval Gliding Club. The course qualifies as Adventurous Training and is sponsored by DNPTS and the Sports Lottery to the tune of £200 per student with only a £250 personal contribution required.

RNGSA EXPEDITION TO TALGARTH, SOUTH WALES (AT)

14-18 Jun The RNGSA will be running a trip to Talgarth to experience ridge and wave flying in a beautiful area of the country at a great gliding club. It is open to all members of an RNGSA club and is particularly suitable for Bronze pilots and above who wish to broaden their gliding experience.

BGA NATIONAL AND REGIONAL COMPETITIONS (S)

INTER SERVICE GLIDING CHAMPIONSHIPS (S)

24 Jul – 1 Aug – The venue is the Bannerdown GC, Keevil. Team entries will be co-ordinated by the Competitions Member, WO Andy FARR, at e-mail: andrew.farr867@mod.gov.uk He is looking for ground crew and a two-seat glider will be going, with an instructor, for crews and early cross-country pilots to enjoy.

JOINT SERVICE EXPED TO SISTERON, FRANCE (AT)

30 Aug – 18 Sep – The RAF are leading an expedition to Sisteron, France to fly in the Alps. The RNGSA have bid for 8 places. The first week is for Instructor development only. If interested contact the Exped member, WO Jamie Steel, who is the lead at Jamie.Steel538@mod.gov.uk

RNGSA AUTUMN DEVELOPMENT WEEK (AT)

20-24 Sep – An expedition for 16 glider pilots to try gliding for the first time and 4 to develop their skills. The venue will be Upavon c/o the Army GC (Wyvern). The course qualifies as Adventurous Training and is sponsored by DNPTS and the Sports Lottery to the tune of £200 per student with a £100 personal contribution. JOINT SERVICE GLIDING COURSES (AT)

Joint Service Gliding Centre (JSGC) at RAF Syerston have been suspended pending further notice, however, the Army Gliding Association intend running 8 courses this year. Details to follow.

PORTSMOUTH NAVAL GC EXPEDITION TO ABOYNE, SCOTLAND (Club)

tbc – The club will be running a trip to Aboyne to experience wave flying in a beautiful area of the country at a great gliding club. It is primarily a PNGC Expedition, however, there may be a few spare places available to any member of an RNGSA club and is particularly suitable for Bronze pilots and above who wish to broaden their gliding experience.
